where to download direct x 9?

Hi to all
I have a small problem i will reformat my pc and i don't have the direct x 9 software,i look at microsoft and all i see there are updates of direct x 9,can anyone here help me where can i find this software this is what i am using but the problem is i return it to my friend and he migrated to canada!by the way this is my first reformat so i am kinda scared so help me guys!!my os is xp sp2,asus board,p4 2.4,64mb video card,thanks in advance

There has to be better though, this site requires Windows Genuine Advantage.

I got my copy from a game, and save the files on my HD.

I found some other sites that carry it, but since I can't verify they don't have malware I'll refrain from recommending them. Many times this is how a payload is delivered to your computer.

(directx_9c_redist.exe) ,this is what i found at microsoft is this the one?also i read there that direct x 9 is included in windows xp sp2?is this correct?and i can download at microsoft, it's not a problem to me i can pass the genuine tool

Window's Genuine Advantage is not just validating your computer, and that is the words used. I could be wrong, but the exact words are there. I've fought hard to keep WGA off my machine.

 

Its mrerely to validate your copy of Windows as legal. It also expires after a spell, requiring a reinstall of the components.

 

I may be missing the point here but if you are running a genuine OS then it should be no problem, i have downloaded from MS and had to validate it adds very little time to the download itself, if MS want to know about you i am sure they can find other ways to do it??
