oh wait a moment, that would be incorrect. It's actually laparoscopic surgery to repair an umbilical hernia I've had for around 2 years now. Hopefully all will go well even though I hate hospitals and don't like the thought of anyone cutting on me but myself. I only hope that I'll still be able to lift as much as I could before the surgery after I have it done and I've healed up a bit. In my trade it's vital that I'm able to lift heavy loads (got to carry that larger ego of mine around you know ;)). Anyway, it's Tues, the 18th, just in time for the holidays.

That's a minimally invasive procedure so you should have minimal pain and healing time. Hospitals ain't that bad, ours even has decent food made by a catering outfit. Only thing I hate is when I wake up with that tube down my throat. Ughh!!!

That sounds like a major drag, Wraith.
Do take your time even ATTEMPTING to lift anything! Until you are completely healed, you are at high risk of reoccurrence, which is something you'll want to avoid after this surgery. Trust me, I just recently had a bilateral herniorrhaphy. Nothing like seeing your "stitches" taken out with a medical set of sidecutters!

You'll do fine. If it's what I"m thinking about, my daughter had the same thing a couple of years ago. She didn't even have to go to a hospital. She had it in a surgery center and had about 3 stitches from it. You'll be in and out.

    Good luck. :)

You won't feel a thing roflmao

Seriously though, I've had several laparoscopies and you are in and out the same day. recovery time is short - the worst part is the fact they pump you up with gas and that all has to come out again:fart

You will very quickly be back to lifting and feeling your normal self again.

Yeh, you should ignore me, my surgery wasn't laparoscopic, so can't quite compare.

This is true - I had an uncle get this procedure, and as I recall he was up and around in rapid fashion. Still any surgery is a drag. Good luck!

Ya know, I thought I had a lobotomy once, but now I can't remember for sure . . . :confused Um, what was I saying?

    :D

How's the snow over your way?

Surgery is at 8:00 a.m. central time. Should only take an hour to perform and an hour or so for recovery room, then it's off to the house for my own recovery. Should be online late tomorrow night or Wed via my son's laptop. Will update you then.

Well, better late than never I guess... glad to hear it went well man!!!

Having had 2 seperate surgeries for bilateral inguinal herias, I envy you the laprascopic route. Second one was significantly larger than the first so they had to wait longer to take out the 2nd half of the staples and I healed over some.... I have an extremely high pain tolerance, but whoah that was nasty. Be glad you get the little cutz :)
