Ahh...memories...that's faster than my dialup used to be.

So I had to go there, and then because the recommended test site was in BFE Nowhere (that I cannot believe they've even heard of, much less having a server there) I had to run it.

nope its not an error i rebooted my computer and cleared my internet cache twice and got similar results, did the same thing with my dad's computer (on the same internet service) and got the same results

im upgrading to either 512k or 1024k dsl in less than a month though...
(the highest offered by my isp is 4096k)

dude though its sad over 3/4 of the town that i live in still uses dialup, since we only have one isp available to us and they jack up their prices way higher than they should...

 

I believe it! I had to live in a small town in Oklahoma for a year (work-related, which made is more painful) and there was only one dial-up operated through THE local bank. You could never get on .... sometimes I would let it keep trying to login, while it rang and rang the server's onlynumber in Tulsa, and would do other stuff. One night I went to bed, forgetting that I had been trying to logon to the 'Net for hours, went to sleep, and about 2:00 AM, I hear a big TA-DA ... my cat had walked across the keyboard just as it was FINALLY connecting. As soon as my year in hell was up, I was outta there and back to New Jersey. Now I'm in Indiana, a different kind of hell, but with much faster speeds. CateFONT="Comic Sans MS"][/FONT][/FONT]

 

Yes it is. Its an error with the site, not your computer though. How is it that a single dial up modem can bypass fcc enforced speed limits?

Connection speed max is 56Kbps, limited in actuality to 53Kbps by the FCC. Upload speed is 33Kbps, unless you have a v.92 modem which is still limited at 48Kbps.
