I just watched an interesting programme on TV about how easy it is for Sex Offenders to contact children online and the obvious dangers attached.

i watched that myself G. it was seriously concerning just how many of these sicko's were contacting children through myspace & places like that. it was good to know though that the police are catching many of them now by posing as children online themselves..

 

Here in the US there is a TV show called Dateline. They set up online predators who are soliciting young girls for sex. Some of them travel hundreds of miles in hopes of getting together with a young girl. One idiot even brought his kid (3 or 4 yrs old) to the house with him.
This has been going on for some time yet every week they nab an incredible amount of these sick bastards. The police are always waiting outside to arrest them.
Married men, government employees, it's unbelievable there are that many yet on the other hand it probably doesn't even dent the actual number of pedophiles out there.
When it comes to children it is everybody's business to keep them safe, takes more then a village now days for sure.

they showed some clips from that show in the one i watched the other night. in one of the clips they actually caught a rabbi on dateline in the show i watched they said they had caught judges & policemen!!!

 

I am probllay gonna make some people mad and I sorry ( but really don't care to much ) if your gonna let your kid on the computer watch them make sure there not going on stuff they shouldnt. they have have programs that stop that sort of thing, and many people are sick , but if your letting your kid have a mspace, check up on it, make sure that there not talking to anyone you dont want them to, and if your kid get sucked in to the perverted minds of those people, sorry, but you have been warned, and if you read the myspace and face book info, people under 18 are not reccomended to have one and on them they have blocking pertetion to stop friend adds and random messages. Srry if i offend u read above im just tierd of hearing sorry, but it is sick. and well you have your own opinion

I don't see why you would need to apologise to anyone who doesn't have the simple common sense to protect their children from such low life predators.

And those who hold any form of public trust with their office, particularly if officers of the law who are caught out as predators are to be condemned all the more, for they should know better. What arrogance (or stupidity), in thinking they would not be caught out.

 

You know, no matter how well you keep track of your kids they're going to find ways around you. People have to work, sleep, kids go to friends, a parent can only do so much. You instill values while they are growing up and even if they stray hopefully goodness will prevail.

 

I would spend every waking moment explaining how dangerous the Internet is if I had kids, teaching them the golden rules people are often not who they say they are "I still believe adrynalyne is a robot made by apple",never give any personal information away including photographs.

I wouldn't let my kids use social networking sites period,they can communicate with friends via messenger and skype and use the internet with 50 parental controls on.
