Im running Windows Vista Ultimate. Whenever one of my programs freezes of something i always go into task manager to end it.

However, recently ive been going into the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen and the option for task manager isnt there... any advice on how to get the option back again?

    Hi

Can you type taskmgr into the Start Search Box and Task Manager is listed and can be clicked to run?

If missing it could be disabled so this regfix from MVPS.org can re-enable http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/EnableTM.reg

Have you had malware reciently by any chance? just curious as this can disable Tsakmanager.

Download, double click the reg file > Run > and at UAC prompt Continue to merge it with registry as what it does is re-enable the registry disable key.

Are you using any Tweaking applications or been tweaking the Vista "Services" as per say BlackVipers guide? these options can disable many things if your not aware of the concequences of the actions.

    Hi

Try the link a few times as its fine for me, even right click it and choose Save Target As.

But this is the text from the reg file, so open up Notepad, copy and paste the below text in the Quote Box to Notepad

Then in Notepad click File > Save As and choose the exact options I have done below, then Save.

Type in the name of the file as Task Manager Fix.reg ( the .reg extention is very important )

then in Save as Type, in the dropdown menu choose All Files
