    Hi,

I have completed the "Read and Run Me First" list. Mozilla still has a problem of freezing after a few minutes and it is now coming up with pop ups every now again saying "powered by adsite".

I am not sure if the pop ups are still happening scince the clean up as I did remove some problems, but Mozilla is freezing too quickly to do anything much.

I am able to use IE and the rest of the system seems ok.

Any ideas would be great! ;)

    Thanks,

    Jeff.

Until you have attached ALL of the logs requested in the READ ME, you have not completed the instructions.

However please do the below first, uninstall FireFox and then reboot your PC.

After reboot delete the below folder:

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Now reinstall FireFox using this link: Mozilla FireFox

    Are you still having problems.

Here are my logs, although or some reason AVG didn't create a log. I went through all of the instructions and I ran it twice???

I also deleted FireFox and reinstalled it from the link you gave, but it is still freezing after a while, but I haven't seen the pop-ups again.

Well your logs are clean and now your popups are gone due to the uninstall/reinstall of FireFox. Any remaining issues may not be due to malware. Do other applications freeze? For one example does Internet Explorer freeze. Do any applications crash and give error messages? Does the freezing also occur in safe boot mode?

I do have a couple things to suggest that you do which are unrelated to your freezing issue.

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04\bin\jusched.exe

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
