However, you already created a thread to this effect here http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=146619 where you received the same answer I just gave. I suggested you do check it out.

Also the use of consistent uppercase is considered "shouting" on the internet and bad etiquette. It also makes it very difficult for sight impaired people to read. Please use normal typing in future. Thanks :)

There are MANY high quality 100% free antivirus and antispyware products, and many can be downloaded right here from MajorGeeks. On my home PC, I run Avira AntiVir for virus protection, Comodo BOClean for spyware protection, Browser Hijack Retaliator for browser protection, and they're all free, and reputable products. Others are AVG Antivirus, Comodo AntiVirus, Spyware Terminator, Avast Antivirus, Microsoft Defender, and the list goes on. The product you mentioned is 'rogue-ware' meaning it's a fake security product that advertises itself as a helpful utility. You install it and it floods your PC with fake warnings, saying you need to download a new program for $29.99 to remove the spyware... the real program name is 'SpyBot Search and Destroy' and not SpywareBOT....

Sorry, dlb, but I've got to disagree with you. I've used Spybot Search and Destroy for years. I still use it, and I update it every time the update appears in Magor Geeks front page.

I've never had my PC flooded with false positives. I am sure if Spybot Search and Destroy was as bad as it is painted, it would not be listed on Major Geeks or its' updates listed either.

A quick Google search reveals SpywareBOT is a completely different program to Spybot Search and Destroy, so please don't jump to conclusions because the name is (deliberately?) similar.

This could be read 2 ways, and my interpretation was that dlb was saying that Spybot S&D was the culprit. Just trying to set the record straight on Spybot S&D. Bazza
