I lived close to Hooker (70's 80's) he used to preform in Monterey a lot, never made it to see him. I used to say, "one of us is going to die before I get to" and I'll be dam. :(

While I was still in Monterey County on this radio station ( now thats a story ) I'm assuming it was right after his death played an old interview. The interviewer was totally clueless to his life style not quite knowing what to ask or remark on.
Bloomfield told him they played in the toughest areas and black bars in Chicago, who to their surprise accepted them.
He went on to say, "to give you an idea how rough it was there, one night this black guy walked in slammed his wifes head on the bar and said, "give this bitch a beer".
After a moment of silence the interviewer asked, "did he hurt her"?
Bloomfield answered,"man, you aren't getting it", he brought in a severed head and slammed it on the bar probably after some horrific fight.
I was waiting for the thump after that of the interviewer hitting the floor.

Not so typical blues, close tho, didn't even know he died, bummer :( he discovered Joe Cocker. The credits on this album are impressive,

(Rod Stewart and Elton John. Rolling Stone, Ron Wood, on electric guitar and acoustic guitarist and Sam Mitchell.) 1971 I believe :confused

Hehe Darlene, that's cool as I like jazz also, go figure? Of course, Take Five is a classic!

    Here's a bit of blues/zydeco since we're expanding our horizons a bit. :)

Hmm, I guess that was a Freudian slip on my part in not getting the song title as it should be. I'll leave the typo as it 'fits'.

I didn't see that, but it does fit.
