    Hi there, I first wanted to say that I love the feature "Please take a look at those threads before you start a new one" that happens before you post a new thread, it's sooo helpful. :)
    I have the Dcads pop up that I'm sure I acquired from limewire a few weeks ago. I went to Add/Remove in control panel and when I hit "uninstall" a box comes up asking: "Please enter confirmation code to validate uninstall" and in the pop up box are some letters and numbers they want you to type in again. Now, I'm thinking this will probably not uninstall it but make it worse, has anyone experienced this? What do you think I should do?
    Thanks so much for your help. :)

    You could volunteer to be guinea pig to test if it works and report back to us. ;) What is it that you see in add/remove programs anyway. I don't remember seeing anything for it in an uninstall list where we previously fixed this infection.

    Ok, I'm the guinea pig. First, I forgot to explain what was in the add/remove in control panel. It said "Browser Optomizer Ads", then I clicked on it and that's where it gave me the option to uninstall. When I clicked uninstall a box popped up and said "enter confirmation code to validate uninstall".
    So I just put in the code and hit uninstall and then another box popped up with Spybot - Search and Destroy: "Search and destroy has detected an important registry entry that has been changed"
    Category: Browser Helper Object
    Change: Value deleted
    Entry: {733716E1-76D2-4003-AC39-845281C0EF85}
    Remember this decision
    Allow change:
    "?"
    Info
    Deny Change

    Sorry, I wish I could do a screenshot to show you. But apparantly the change was completed before I had the chance to "Deny" it. Maybe that was the whole idea for me to put the uninstall code in so it could make a registry change????
    Sorry, I don't know what a registry change does to your system.
    Anyway, if anyone could suggest what I should do now that would be great.
    Thanks.

    You just needed to allow the change. You are the one doing the uininstall which requires the registry to be changed to complete the uninstall. Things that are installed put information into the registry. When you uninstall them, things are removed from the registry. Is Browser Optomizer Ads now gone?

    Are you haveing malware problems, if so, please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
