Thats great:D 21mpg geez ok its good for an SUV but its still obviously terrible and shouldn't be celebrated IMHO,at least the iraqi's know their oil is going to good use:D

21 mpg city isn't a bad average, considering the most popular SUV in England right now is reported to be the Honda CR-V, which has a city mpg of 20 . . . or 20/27/23 (city/highway/combined - For a 66-hp, DOHC i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine, 2WD).

None of the stats amount to a hill 'o beans though . . . these are based on factory optimum readings, and unless the vehicle is maintained properly the mpg ratings will begin to degenerate almost from the moment the vehicle drives off the showroom floor.

Strange what people call 'green', as driving a small house around in itself negates the whole concept of being 'green'.:confused

Exactly its like giving awards for small swimming pools during a water shortage,I don't see the need for SUV's especially for shopping and the school run,I don't have a problem with people owning them but cmon you can't have enviromental points and peace of mind too.

Where did you get those stats from?Exxon:D I can't find a CR-V with 66hp,all the petrol models average 34mpg and the diesel model does

    Urban 34.9 mpg
    Extra Urban 49.6 mpg
    Combined 43.5 mpg

Keep in mind that the gallon measurements are different making the whole US vs UK MPG thing rather confusing.
    1 UK Imperial Gallon = 4.54609 litres
    1 US Liquid Gallon = 3.785411784 litres

Me neither till I looked it up, I just assumed a gallon was a gallon. So when it comes down to it UK cars will get more MPG simply because there gallon is bigger. :D
