Are you using thoosje, muskie? 'Cause I tried to incorporate my icons in and couldn't figure out how. I went on their site to look for the gadget and couldn't find it. What do you mean 'app launcher'? Is that part of Thoosje?

I'm using the one supplied with Vista Laura.... just heading out to dinner and a hockey game. I'll take a look and post back later :wave
PS App Launcher is a gadget. Look for the gadgets link.

Thanks muskie. I went onto their site. The gadgets are only if you actually have Vista. :(

mine isn't scaling right at all and it is making me angry. I grabbed one from http://www.desktopography.net/

There are some really beautiful desktops there. I got the NEN one. Even stretched from 16x12 to 1920x1200 you can't see the distortion at all.

if any one knows of a good desktop manager, I would appreciate a link or something. I have tried a few but not had good luck at all. I don't mind having to pay for it either, as long as it does a good job

through the use of some free software and other paid for software, I have no icons what so ever on my desktop. not even the recycle bin. I like it a lot.

now I just have to reconfigure my mouse and the software and I will be in nerdvana.

Every darn time I've been to SF, I never saw that bridge, even when I crossed over it and under it...due to that rolling fog that hits SF at any time of day/night. So my pictures only have glimpses of that lovely structure:D

Ditto. I don't even have a sidebar. If I knew a way that I could disable the start menu (and easily reactivate on need), I wouldnt even have that.

You now need a dual screen wallpaper to span the two, I have a neat one of the City at night on mine in work.

Well, not really. I lived there during my elementary school years, with my grandparents. I did go to China Town and Fisherman's Wharf with my mother on her days off.

Here I don't personally use any side bars or anything on my computer but you may want to check these links:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Thoosje_Vista_sidebar_d5511.html

    Also...
There are various youtube tutorials which demonstrate how to get various programs, this video could be helpful... it's supposed to show how to get a real vista sidebar on XP... It looks interesting, and ther're instructions under the details.

I'm using Windows Blinds, the them is called "neOS NeoShell" It's a great theme, it features an extra roll up button as well as a small button slightly too the left of it that lets you minimize windows to the system tray. Also, there is a small button on the far left to the right of the program icon that lets you make windows transparent.

I never want to get rid of this theme because I can't get use too not having all the extra buttons. :cool

Unfortunately WB costs about $20, but there are ways to get "windows blinds for free"... rolleyes *glances at YouTube*

You can download the theme here: http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=4515&libid=1

Thanks a lot. Paying for the software isn't a bid issue for me as long as it does what I want, and windblinds is pretty awesome from what I remember. The theme is definately going to be nice.
