I haven't been around much but due to a very unexpected gift that arrived Tuesday via UPS, I now have a new laptop! OMG! I cried when I opened it..lol I am still in a state of shock and don't know quite what to say...saying thank you just seems so inadequate ya know? There are no words that could truly and completely express my appreciation, thanks, gratitude and even happiness b/c when I'm laid up with my back I won't be so bored and stir crazy. :cool

So for now, I'd just like to say a fond hello to all the 'old timers' and welcome to all the newer members. I'll be around...even when I'm at Mayo all day....found out today when I was there the entire campus has free wireless for patients so I'll just be taking my new toy with me.

Oh yeah...for all you geeky people... System Specs.

PS: I would have posted sooner but had trouble getting my wireless to work with my DSL and old (CP-2W) router. Everything I could find said it wouldn't work, no ifs ands or buts about it but I got it working today. Go Me!!!!

Hiya LS!

I'm well enough. Just have some old injuries that are giving me problems is all. Nothing life threatening just painful and very inconvenient. Mayo campus (patient areas) consists of 3 huge buildings (Cannaday, Mayo & Davis) and the hospital was added on to the Mayo bldg. It is almost done and is set to officially open in April. It's a really, really beautiful campus and it's not hard to spend all day there at all. I love just staying out by one of the fountains, listening to the water and watching the ducks play.

An awesome present with the laptop, indeed! Pretty good unit, judging from the specs., too! I hope you're managing with your back/neck problems, and good to see that you are enjoying your trips to the Mayo clinic. As you know, being able to relax effectively is also Crucial to the healing process.

Hope Chris is coping with all the pressures of work and home. Great to hear you are both plodding along and doing well. Hopefully, hear from you both, soon. Take and regards to all from ‘down under’, eh.

Great to hear from you abby and what a wonderful gift. I hope to one day give my mother a laptop for the days she can't get out of bed for her back and neck.
