I bought a p3 Ibm-7569RBF computer and I cant seem to find the sound card. I gave my pc model so if anyone can give me the driver to install i would be very pleased. I downloaded SIW which is a program that gives you your system info in general but I still cant manage to know what it is. I just know its written manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation.

I downloaded the belarc advisor thing and it says none for my multimedia, is it possible that it could be with my motherboard or something Im confused.

I still cant find it maybe there is simply no sound card, on belarc it says I have no sound card, I cant open my volume controller because it says there is no sound card installed. This is weird, who sells computers that dont have sound cards installed. Btw my motherboard serial number is Q967TT2NAK0 and the model is 6579RBF and yet i cant find anything. :yum

I really appreciate your help dude but yay I tried all of the drivers and it cant detect my sound card. It would be so frustrating if my computer wouldnt even have a sound card installed! :( because im not good with computers and i dont feel like bringing back my pc to the store.

If there is an onboard audio device (good chance there is), is it enabled in the motherboards bios?

Anyway to check that? Control panel> Device manager?

You'd check in the machines bios. Hence the blue "bios" link in my post. Click on the link in my post if you're unsure how to achieve this.

The linked site has *just* undergone an update. The links are "getting lost". I've notified my "boss" there, so it may be a short while before things are straightened out.

thx but i have limited access to my bios. It's not like the bios of others computers. It asks me to type Ctrl+s at the beginning, I enter it and it has very limited options, i cant access to my motherboards settings and stuff. Idk whats wrong.

Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (Clean FreeWare) Once it's finished loading and running, click on the Report Wizard in the Menu Bar. Save all hardware related pages (the default) to a TEXT file in a location of your choice. (It will default the location to C:\Program Files\Lavalys\EVEREST Home Edition\Reports, unless you redirect it.)

Compress (zip) the text file and attach that zipped text document to your next posting. (When posting, click on Advanced, and just below the posting box you'll see "Additional Options", and within that, "Attach Files". Click on "Manage Attachments" and follow the prompts. Browse to the file and choose UPLOAD.)

Sorry, I've been busy helping to work out the bugs on a site overhaul on my home website.

BTW, you had your model/serial numbers mixed up a bit. A sound device was only mentioned once in the Everest Report, and not in the usual place. If there is a sound device on this machine, this should do it for you.

Thanks alot for your help but i think there is simply no sound card because when i am installing the software it says at the end '' No driver found reboot system ''. Pretty weird and frustrating but thanks for your help Dan, truly appreciated.

Yeah, the (parent) site said that model "if equipped with audio"....

It looks as though you will have to find an external (USB?) sound device in order to get sound.
