Can anyone direct me how to create a boot disc (not floppy) and run it to get windows 2000 to start. After it starts I will load on xp. It boots almost fully on then a blue screen flashes very quickly and comp reboots itself. It will not start in safe mode either, it does the same thing

    Thanks.....Elast

why do you need to start 2k, to try and load xp? you should be able to put the xp disk in and it should run. you might have to go into your bios settings, and change the boot order (ie - cd/dvd 1st, h/d 2nd). different comps have different ways to get into the bios (ie - esc key, f3, etc - i forget), sometimes on bootup, you will see it. once you save your settings in the bios, reboot, and it should start from your disk. g/l

What is it? an installed copy of win 2K? If so, when the blue screen flashes, press the pause key; it might be possible to see an error number so we can know what kind of a problem is present. At that point, the computer won't boot any further and you will have to press ctrl+alt+del to get the reboot.
