WinXP activation...

I need to bypass the XP Pro activation wizard at windows startup so I can install a new motherboards drivers does anybody know how to do this temporarily ?

The best way to "bypass" activation, is to simply activate the Windows as required. What's the point of installing new drivers if you can't run Windows because it's not activated?

I'm confused. If you are able to make it to the activation screen then obviously the motherboard works well enough to let you boot. If you need to reinstall them, or install additional drivers, then what will the activation doto your motherboard setup that will ruin everything?

I'm just curious.

 

The new drivers need to be installed before the activation can be done because the network driver is not installed.

But circumventing a function designed not to be circumvented is not too much of a hassle...? Just ask your friend for the license code and original disc already, and make it legal.

 

Oh, and calling MS for the activation key isn't much of a hassle. You just use 5 minutes or so.
