Ok...here's what gets me about this story....not that the guy went to a prostitute (although, I find that extremely sad)...but this quote:

What the hell??? Why do these women stand by their side??? Hillary Clinton did it too. I just don't get it.

First, whether you believe it should be or not, prostitution is illegal. The guy is going to have to step down. I'm sorry, but if my husband publicly humiliated me that way, I would certainly not get up in front of America and support him. In fact, he'd be hard pressed to stand after I found that out.

    Here's another quote

    Um, $5,500????

    Ok...rant sort of over...

Its as much about power, greed and social standing with people like that IMHO,similar to Hillary Clinton was she thinking about how divorcing Bill would effect her political future way back then?

I think so,she certainly wouldn't be where she is now if she had of left.

    :eek:LOL Kes

This whole stand by your man thing that these politicians' wives have going drives me nuts.

I'm not even going to get into the whole hiring a prostitute thing.:D

That's why I will never vote for the woman if she gets the nomination. I have absolutely no respect for her because of the ambition that had to go into her decision.

My throat tends to emit a deep low growl when it comes across stories like Hilary Clinton standing by her husband. The growl and glare being directed towards the male.

Personally, I don't believe at the time she had aspirations of running for President, nor do I believe it was a political move on her part for her own future benefit, but rather for her husband's political benefit. It's the old political ploy of: "look at how the wife forgives and stands by him. If she's big enough to do that, then so should we." Pretty much part of the "healing process" for the public.

So, I reckon it was a correcting political move for her husband at the time. (Let's face it, the everyday, normal person would not tolerate the humiliation of such infidelity...as you have already expressed.)

As for the prostitutes, the bugger got caught out this time 'round. I can't believe it was "his virgin first time of doing such a thing!" <said with gasping breath and innocent wide eyes rolleyes> Again, I reckon the wife standing by her husband would be a political ploy for his benefit imho.

I curious as to why they do it? Is there something in the psyche of a successful politician that puts their sex drive in to overdrive, or is that their wives won't take what they routinely do to the public?

Knew some people 100 years ago whose father was into all sorts of strange things. Ha had a group of girls he hired out and strangely it hardly ever included sex as we think of sex. Not much I would ever agree to with my husband for sure, can't go into specifics, too bizarre.

He's married he should of just closed his eyes and imagined his wife was katerina... I think that's her name. strap a wig on her and go to town.. No one is worth 5000 for two hours.

I have just finished reading a book I'd recommend to anyone with an interest in this thread.

It is about the life and times of Owney Madden, Gangster and offers salient comments.

Well, at least he didn't toe tap in the bathroom stall looking for anonymous sex. I don't get this obsession of the American public about sex and politicians, like the kerfuffle with Bill. Why should anyone care as long as the person does the job. I get it that Mr. Clean(Spitzer) is a hypocrite, he was just thinking with his other brain, as many guys do.

I agree with the politicians and sex thing, augie. The whole thing with Bill was ridiculous and a waste of tax payer money. Although, I guess the issue there was the fact that she was an intern.

But what this guy did was illegal, whether you believe prostitution should be legal or not.

My problem is more with the women actually standing up with their cheating husbands in front of the world after they were humiliated. To me that's just sad.

Here is my angle. been bitter lately, Government didnt help me when I needed it the most, so I think the whole system is broke and corrupt.

All politicians should be watched and monitored, especially for political ethics. I dont really care about the prostitute frankly, some say legalize it, some areas it is legal, regardless, I am more concerned with corruption. They were not investingating him for the prostitutes. If people would check into the polititicains dealings, rather then take them down on their personal life, we could clean things up.

This was politics, those watching grabbed the first chance they saw to take him down. We live in a society STILL where a politician needs his long time wife and children by his side. Well, if your married and you know divorce stats, its a fairly safe bet that somewhere near 60-70% of politicians fooled you with the happy family routine long before anything else. You think Bill and Hillary Clinton are living happily ever after? Please.
In a society of anything but Wally and Beaver, we actually have the balls to expect our politicians to be squeaky clean and are shocked when they aren't. There are 2 politicians, the one who got caught and the ones who didn't. I dont care if they would do the damn job.
