ad aware 2007

    I download & install ad aware 2007. At the final part-starting service, I get
    "error 1920. Service (aaaservice) failed to start.Verify that you have sufficient priveledges to start system services." How can I verify that I am the administrator?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    This is really not an issue for the malware removal forum.

    Are you saying you don't know what kind of an account you are using? Look at User Accounts under Control Panel and see what type account your user name is.

    of course i know what kind of account i have! the ad aware program wants me to verify
    that i am an administrator. there doesn't seem to be any way to do so.

    And if you do what I said in my last message you can verify that you are using an account with administrator priviledges.

    Ad-Aware 2007 installation problem

    I finally solved error 1920. Now when I try to install 2007, it gets to 'running service' and automatically uninstalls do to 'fatal error'. No indication as to what the error is. ?????

    If you would like us to check your PC to see if malware is causing you problems, we can do that if you follow the below instructions.

    Yes you have already stated this. You need to follow the instructions already given so that we can determine if you are having malware problems. If you are not having malware problems, you would need to be posting in the Software Forum or at Lavasoft's website.
