I've been fighting to find a good way to get rid of incredimail from a client's computer.

Client has Windows Vista (ugh) with Incredimail XE.

The Client is a business man and a bit of an e-mail hoarder (we're talk 1000s of e-mails dating back as far as 2001....).

So, after spending the last few weeks sorting out which e-mails I actually need to convert BACK without getting doubles, I'm still stuck at doing it.

    Incrediconvert doesn't support Vista.

Incredimail Backup exports to .eml format (only the first 50 messages for the free version) but windows mail will not import them (using the recommended 'drag & drop' method).

I even tried doing a back up IM, copying it to my XP machine, installing Incredimail on m XP machine and trying to import the backed up data. IM crashes after it creates two folders. I am aware the the format changed and I figure this is what's causing the crashing.

So, I seriously need some big time help.

    At your mercy....

You've probably 'been there, done that' but here's some links to the Incredimail XE support page:
    http://www.incredimail.com/english/...ct_id=5&parent_name=IncrediMail Xe.&lang_id=9
http://www.incredimail.com/english/contactForm.asp?deptSelect=1 (contact support; paid customers get "VIP" service)
I don't use (and never have) Incredimail, and whenever I see it on a PC, I ask the owner if they use it and if so, if they like it. 80% of the time they have no idea what it is or how it got there; 15% of the time they use but hate it and want it gone, and 5% actually like it. Up until about 10-12 months ago I pretty much thought Incredimail was malware ;)

Thanks for the reply. And yes, already contacted them, no help there at all. Somehow he thought that 'revert back to windows mail' meant 'just copy the IM identities folder to your desktop'. Don't see how that was of any help and could find no way to make it of any use so I wrote them off.

Thanks again and to be honest....stick with your original thought of Malware. I'm at the point where I can see ZERO means to revert this back that won't take two more weeks of like 'manual forwarding' for each and every e-mail....sigh.

Thanks for the reply. I did end up buying IM Backup Pro and doing it that way. There was no way I was going through 6000 e-mails and saving them individually :p

    Thanks again.
