Integrated GraphicsCard Question

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite SA215-S5818 notebook.

The graphics card is an integrated ATI Radeon x1200 with dedicated 128mb and it apparently allocated system ram for use (the documentation says 128-356).

So I bought some more ram (now I have 2x2gig stick [[4gigsram]]).

Originally the video card took about 356 or something. But now that I have twice the ram, the video card reports it has 1500 or so mb of ram allocated to it.

Well, this is great as it speeds up my vista a bit, but I'd like to know if there's a way to control how much ram my video card uses. I can't find any settings in the Catalyst Control Panel, and Toshiba Support is really, really stupid (they keep sending me to different departments).

    Any help is appreciated.

Exactly where do you see that?

    DxDiag on the display tab.

And using System Info(a system info prog).

Are you sure about that model #? Google yields nothing for it. And, I could find such a model on Toshiba's website.

Do you have some documentation on your computer, something which states how much memory it can allocate to video, and how you can control that?

Normally, the amount of RAM devoted to video, for integrated video, is controlled via BIOS settings. So, I have not idea how your system could be showing 1500 MB for video.

The documentation I'm referring to is the manual that came with my Notebook.
It states the graphics card that I have and says it's 128-356mb memory.

I looked in the BIOS but there are incredibly few options.
The only things the BIOS lets me change are the screen format and the processor battery usage >.>

    EDIT: It's actually A215, not SA215. Sorry I didn't notice I mistyped it.

What BIOS do you have? I am pretty sure it would be in there. Mine was, but I cannot remember by BIOS type/version offhand. Get back to me with you BIOS and I will check mine.

Maybe you are overlooking something in there?

I'm running a similar notebook... A205 Series. How did you access the BIOS, I've only played around alittle bit but couldn't do it. I wanted to adjust my video memory settings.
