I remember a while ago seeing a software that can transfer you're data, applications and settings of software from XP To Vista. Can anyone recall what that software is? Or can you recommend a software that can do this? ;)

The built in Windows Easy Transfer does a good job for Documents, Picture, Music, Favorites, etc. but not software/programs. I'm not aware of any tools that will move them over. The most likely will need to be installed as Registry entries need to be made to Vista.

Thanks a lot for the information. I'm glad to know that vista has this already within the software. I'm having such a hard time finding a good computer that has a lot of hardrive and a fast processer. I'm so unsure as to what to look at. I've been looking at a emachine, and a systemax. Yet I really am not fond of HP Or Dell. Can you make any suggestions to work well with Vista?

Are you talking about Desktop or Laptop? I have two machines running Vista, Toshiba Laptop and a custom Desktop and not have any problems with Vista on either. Vista has been out for awhile now and SP1 is out for it now so I think its pretty much a personal choice and what you can get a best deal on.

I'm talking desktop. I'm just interested in what you're choices are for a good computer. I'm taking information so I can make an educated guess. So far you're talking toshiba....humm!

I'm looking for a larger hardrive anywhere from 500gb to 700gb, 2gigs of memory and a fast processor with vista. I'm talking more about brand computers like Dell, Gateway etc. What do you think are the better brands? Plus which ones to stay away from.

I really appreciate you're advice. I was a bit scared with Buying Dell I wasn't too sure about Sony. You're very right that Dell makes bad printers. I have had about 3 HP's in my lifetime, and they have always been reliable. Especially the way I use it. I've even had great success with Epson. They seem to be back on track as well. Or should I say back in the spotlight. I will look into Dell and Sony. Thank you for you're time.
