    Hi,

Please help! when I try to upload pictures, my browsers shut down. I have updated Java, but am still having the problem.

I am pretty sure that I have some malware somewhere, I have been reading these threads and taken the advice about dowloading and running spybot etc.

I have downloaded hijack this, can I post a logfile so you can have a look?

    Best regards

    Hi rocketradio,
    Welcome to MajorGeeks!

Please go through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST and attach the requested logs. Spybot is one of the tools we use, so if you've recently run this, you can skip this. Be sure that Spybot's Teatimer function is disable while you're working so it won't interfere with the other tools working. When you attach the requested logs back, one of us will look at them for you.

    Thanks.

    Hi rocketradio,

Did you have some specific problems with the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST?

Based on what you posted here, I don't see any malware.

    Hi Abri,

Thank you for helping me, I know I have at least had malware, but I think this has gone now as you say.

Both Mozilla and Windows still shut down when I try to upload pictures, even though I have updated Java.

Any ideas what is going on please?

    Best regards

No, I did not say this! I said "based on what you posted here" which was meant ironically. It's not possible for me to tell you anything with regard to malware with only HijackThis to go by.

If, however, you're quite certain that the problem is not related to malware (for whatever reason), then you should start a thread in the Software Forum and see if they can help you check for a settings problem or something related to a specific site you might be trying to upload to.

What made you initially say that you are pretty sure you have malware? Did Spybot find anything when you ran it? Did you find threads which posted similar symptoms to those you've been experiencing?

    Hi Abri,

Don't worry, I'm not going to hold you to anything!

I know I had spyware, bit defender and Spybot found it.

Can one of the moderators move this thread to the more relevant software forum so they can have a look over there please?

    Best regards

What exactly would you like them to look at in the software forum? The HJT log? That is not something they do in that forum....

If you are having issues ...you can start a new thread in software to address those ....or you can stay in this thread and attach the requested logs so that we can see what is going on in your computer. Otherwise, it is a waste of our time to keep repeating ourselves.
