combofix wont run

    when I install it to desktop and try to open it, it asks which program I would like to run it with. When I tried "run as" and used my profile name, it said I wasn't an administrator and cant run it

    Why are you trying to run ComboFix to begin with? What malware problems were you having? Have you run the steps that come before ComboFix? Exactly how were you trying to run ComboFix? Were you just double clicking on it?

    Sounds like you may have lost EXE file associations. Try the below.

    Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.
