    You asked for it BigBazza!

I think the price should have to be listed by the seller. I buy stuff from other forums and that is required. A $XXX OBO would be fine with me, just would like to know what the person wants for the item(s).

    Just my 2¢ :cool

Thanks, Fred. That seems fair enough to me, and would cut down on the PM's / emails back and forth. Bazza

    Great idea indeed Fred_G :major

There are a lot of one post wonders in the Buy/Sell area. I am fully in favor of letting a person post items for sale and not visiting other areas of the board, but if they never return, it makes some buyers leery. Thank you to the admins who take time to close dead threads never bumped by the original seller. ;)

Maybe the threads should only have a 3 month life (ie, closed after 3 months of no replies). Sticky should include this provision, IMO.

Maybe that could also apply to all forums (automatically--if the software permits) otherwise it would be a hell of an additional workload on mods (which we don't want).

What about a minimum post count, or some kind of qualification to enter the trading post? I would be leary of doing any buis with someone with just a couple of posts...

I am not sure how pratical that is, might be too much work for the mods.

Whats wrong with a few PMs?

Nothing wrong with a little haggling..

An editing feature would sure be nice, so one could update a thread after a sale or price change.

I usually avoid buying or trading from someone with no references or someone I've never heard of

TBH the PM system is the right way to deal with the selling buying aspect of this as ASUS mentions, he has experience in selling parts via the BST forum so would bow to his expertise in that area, as many will want to keep their addresses and contact details private.

sadly an editing function would be global to the whole forum so likely not going to ne implemented, 1st time sellers, well as they are moderated initially we do vet them for being some what legit, so what you see posted may only be a small proportion of what actually has been posted!!

Minimum post count I do like, not sure how that would work as again its likely to be global and affect other posting rights, although again we do vet these as best as we can for legitimacy.

I know if I notice old threads in BST I do close them and if thats something you folks want I will continue, only needs the OP to contact me to re-open it if its still live, also you can just post a new post to change the price or listing of whats available. Also would help if the OP would update post that the item/s are sold.

I do feel for me that price, description and image of product should always be posted.

Nothing wrong with PM'ing an offer ASUS. I just like to have an idea what the person wants for the item. The final price does not have to be what is listed.;)

    Just my opinion.

i actually liked the buy/sell section at a different forum that i was a previous member of...it allowed you to edit your post there at any time, even if the thread was a year old

Sadly that practice allow the OP to be not so cosher and adjust specs and prices on the original post which may be different to advertised, not going to happen here, if prices change then the subsequent posts will show this price drop or rise.

Whats the point in editing a post thats a year old?
