On my other computer, I use XP. I made a dual boot system to boot linux Ubuntu as well. Recently, I decided to remove linux because XP is easier for me to use, plus I needed the extra hard drive space for XP. Not really knowing what I was doing, I "uninstalled" Linux by formatting that drive partition using the Windows XP disk manager. Now when I boot up, I get an error at the first start up screen and I can't do or type anything. It won't let me boot XP. Do I have to boot from the XP recovery disk and reformat the whole hard drive? Or is there a way to save my information from my XP files?

You need to rebuild the boot loader for Windows.

Search the Software Forum and in the meantime hopefully a geek will help here.

Awesome thanks for the link! The only problem is, I don't have an administrator password. Anything I type in, it says 'invalid password'. If you haven't set a password, is the default password the serial # or something like that?

Default is just hitting Enter, and not inputting a password.
