I am forced to use Firefox to contact my email site. :cry They don't accept Opera. Over the past few days when I try and log into FF, a EULA pops up

I tick "agree" (what choice have you got---none) and scroll down and click onto "OK" and nothing happens. I cannot get onto my email site.

    Need help pronto, please. Bazza

    PS: Version 1.8.20080.40413

I suppose I should install a later version, but that begs the question as to why this versions pops up a EULA. Baz

Is it the Mozilla EULA, or some 3rd party's?

As you say Bazza, update the current full version. There is also an even later beta release too.

Thanks Lev. That is what I have done in the meantime. Now have v 2.0.0.14 loaded from http://majorgeeks.com/download2248.html and it works OK. Still wondering about that EULA if anyone else had the same problem. Bazza

Stuff Firfeox. I've installed the latest version as per earlier post, and the FireFox EULA is back again over the last 2 days. Any suggestions, anyone. :confused :( :cry :confused :confused

You are running this app logged in as an administrator, right?

Hi Lev, I'm using XP Pro. No other users. I log out of Opera and try to log into FireFox. That is when I get the FireFox EULA. I am using exactly the same method AFAIK that I have always used since joining www.gmx.com as my email site. :confused Bazza

    Random things to try:

    1. Check that the shortcut links to firefox.exe

    2. Check that the EULA is genuine (see Mozilla site for copy)

    3. Have you changed or added any software recently e.g iTunes, Windows SteadyState, etc?

    4. Could be malware trying to hijack things, so run some Malware apps (see R&R thread in Malware Forum).

    5. Uninstall latest FF version. Run CCleaner and it's registry cleaner. Reboot. Download and reinstall FF (Do not use the same download of the installer you already have).

    6. Pray Tuesday comes round quickly so you can d/l V 3.0 ;)

Thanks a heap Lev. I have installed and uninstalled iTunes a couple of times recently while setting up 3 iPods for 2 sons and 1 sons g/f. :-D

I think EULA is genuine, but will check again

Have run CC and many others on a daily basis.

Will download another version of FF from MG.

    Will wait for Tuesday :-D

What effects does iTunes have on this exercise? :cry :confused Bazza

I am hearing (and reading now) that the latest version of iTunes is causing an array of different side effects for different users. Oftentimes the uninstallation of iTunes solves the problem. I am not saying your specific problem has been identified as associated with the new iTunes version, but as I said, the side effects have been wide and varied, so if you have time you might want to uninstall and see if it affects FF too.

Bazza, when you install the new versions of FF, did you uninstall the old?
The Eula may be coming out of one of the config files, so just reinstalling won't change it.
Export your bookmarks to Desktop or somewhere NOT in FF (for reinstalling later) , uninstall FF, look for any leftover FF folders and delete them, then reinstall FF.
    See if that helps.

Thanks musksnipe and Lev. :major I'll try to wipe FireFox completely. Clean our references and downloiad and install again. I only use FF for www.gmx.com so couldn't care if I lose Favourites. I much prefer and use Opera although latest version of that (v9.5) is a bit of a change from v9.27. Thanks again. Bazza
