okay, so it's not THE lego computer, but it is still pretty sweet.

more pics of the building of my lego computer :cool

you can see how i built in the hard drive, which was very tricky. the red/blue legos on top of the hdd will support the roof

nearing completion. you can see how i built in the power supply

this is where the hdd supports came into play. if they were not there, the roof would collapse

completed construction!!! my lego computer is complete!!! its kind of messy inside with cables, so hopefully things don't overheat.

now i have to decide what to use it for...

    Interesting.

How much did you have to invest?
Or did you steal all the kids toys for your own?

i had to invest exactly....zero dollars.

my dad gave me his old computer (he had me build him a new one) and i made the case out of my old legos...i was wondering when i was ever going to open the ol' lego box again

umm....i dont have any kids, if that's what you're implying

did you glue the blocks or is this not permanent?

the 2 story look would look pretty sharp with medival themed legos ;)

i didn't glue the blocks, so i can make modifications later on if needed

i was thinking about doing a castle or something, but i don't have enough medieval themed legos...:(

Won't the heat melt the plastic?

Nah nothing gets much higher than 50c even at 100c boiling point "If it hasn't crashed:-D" your a few hundred degrees away from melting plastic.

I like anything creative like that Speculant good luck with the build,I'd like to make my next rig look like a Car engine but everything has to have a purpose nothing just bolted on for looks.

EDIT just checked standard ABS LEGO has a melting point just above 200c

Maybe it has to have some metal grounded to prevent electric surges?

    Very creative, Speculant.

Have you tried to run it yet? (was that stupid? are you going to run it?)

    then yeah, its grounded.

it runs fine, as of now its just sitting there...i dont really know what to do with it

fold???? with a 550Mhz processor???? it would take like 4 days to complete a single work unit. not worth it in my mind.

the bios doesn't allow overclocking either.

i was kind of thinking to use it as a music streamer to my bedroom upstairs (my main computer is downstairs)
