Being an avid but mediocre golfer, I find it humiliating and also quite amazing how Tiger does it. He may not win the US Open, but he deserves to. What heart. What skill. That's why I wonder if he's from Vulcan or somewhere out there. Wow. And he hasn't even tee'd off yet today.

ditto, and no, he is not human. LOL

Did you watch last night? He was, what?, 5 under in just 3 holes! And what shots to make both eagles.

    He is absolutely amazing.

One day, he'll publicly thank me for teaching him everything he knows. LOL

I golfed for 20 years, and never did anything more than drive the green on a few par 4's..

Yep. Truly amazing. Particularly considering his knee.

I was actually hoping Rocco could pull it off even though I like Tiger.

Yep, Poor Rocco deserved to win on Sunday.
Tiger just lurked until Rocco screwed up and put him away.
Rocco played his heart out and enjoyed it.
    Tiger is just Tiger.

He must be human because now he out for the season for knee surgery. He disobeyed doctors orders by playing the open. :banghead

I wish I could play like Tiger... LOL I'm happy to hit under a 130 on 18 holes and under 70 on 9, so I can't say much. But he is absolutely amazing to watch

I don't "get" golf.. do I have to be retired for me to like this "sport" ?

lmao...nope. I'm not retired. Not even close.

Just consider yourself one of the lucky ones who aren't addicted to a game that constantly challenges you, that you can play until you are 90, that you can form lasting friendships/marriages over, that you can enjoy the sun in, and that once in a while throws you a bone in the form of one perfect shot that makes you keep coming back. Btw, the body/eye coordination it takes to be even remotely proficient at it definitely define it as a sport.

you want to see a sport that will rock your world?

c'mon.. all you old time MG'ers know what I'm about to say.. .. say it with me sucka's!

    FULL CONTACT JUJITSU!!! YEAH!!
I met my wife doing martial arts.. have met tons of friends doing it, have practiced outside in the sun and performed some techniques with mastery precision which was a rush for me :) You want to talk about body/eye..oh and Mental coordination.. it's got golf beat by a long shot :).. and yes, I've played golf before.. and it was rather fun to pal around with the guys, shoot the poop and hit some balls. But I'd still rather hop in the ring :D

lol...I can't say I do jujitsu, but I do tai chi and yoga. Granted they aren't contact sports (not the way I do it anyway. heh), but I know the mental coordination of which you speak. I also play golf competitively. I've seen the people who just 'shoot the poop and hit some balls'. In fact, I've played with a few. LOL...you're right, That isn't a sport.

One thing I will say, is golf is a game you can play your entire life. I'm 40, my dad is 60. We went out and won a tournament together 2 yrs ago and had a blast doing it. To be able to do that with my dad was priceless. He still plays with his father who is 87. lol...You can bet your life I wouldn't be getting in a ring with either of them. ;) But who knows, maybe I'll try a little jujitsu some day though.

No. My father in law and brother in law are heavy golf players.. I'm "forced" (for lack of a better word) to watch golf on tv. Never understood living vicariously through the actions of others, especially on TV. I always said to myself.. why be the one that roots for the guy when I could be the one being rooted for :D
