Mozilla wants Guinness World Record FF3

I already pledged and I got an email reminding me that June 17th, (today) is officially Mozzilla Download Day. Trouble is, I already got it days ago. Should I uninstall and redownload? rolleyes :-D J/K

 

Today IS download day.... and I cannot find anything better than release candidates?

Sounds like it's going swimmingly.

 

Maybe they forgot to turn it on......

 

1:00 PM EST is when the download is officially starting.

 

Its easy to set an all-new world record when its never been recorded before

It is odd that they're seeming to delay the emails. You would think the sooner sent the better.

 

No the real party pooper will be when MS releases IE8, and does the same contest, except they will include Windows Update

Trouble with that idea, is that the server is bogged down most of the time. Good idea to pick ANY other day, imo.rolleyes

(Yep, using the IE8 Beta X64 browser now. )

 

Their site's working somewhat better now - I was able to get my download completed in 15 seconds.

Problem is, it ate all my bookmarks when I installed it! :cry

You get the option of printing off a certificate with your name on it to remember this oh-so-momentous occasion by - that is so worth losing all your bookmarks over rolleyes

Downloaded FF 3 from MG at 6.16am today, Wednesday, 17th June 2008 OZ time.

Or 8.16pm UK time (17/6/2008) and 3.16pm (approx) MG time (17/6/2008) with no hassles. Now to install it. :-D Bazza

I also gave it a first up plug today, in my June column at http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=160930 to show up in the Software Forum. in case others miss it.

Don't mind my snarkiness - I've been getting up on the wrong side of the bed for several years now :-D Sometimes, little things like that set me off

I just found out my bookmarks for IE are basically the same, so it looks like I only lost maybe 10 or 12 - that's a relief!

That won't stop me from using the Fox, though - it's been so long since I last saw an ad, I've forgotten what they are! :cool

The certificates actually are pretty neat

i didn't understand you losing all your bookmarks, i still had mine, then i realized install didn't finish, i was using my limited account.
on my admin account I installed... bam, i lost all my bookmarks.:banghead
But then, I went back to my limited account, and beta version of 3 was still there with all bookmarks. :dancer
then i found bookmarks add-on synchronizer, and I got both versions synchroed
