Hi here's all the info I can think of, staring with Hijack this and then all I can think of I've done and what's happening. Please help, don't know what to do, I'm lucky I can get online to post this:

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

All the stuff I tried to download to fix it, when I click on the icon on my desktop, it says it’s: “Not a valid Win32 application.”

I took my Spybot, Adaware and Avast off my computer because it seems they have been tampered with and I can’t seem to restore them, but now I can’t download them back on.

Spybot I did but it can’t download the extra things to start things up because the system times out.

I have something on my Add/Remove that just says “Get High Speed Internet!” I don’t know if it’s part of Verizon or if I should remove it? I also have something that says “Go to Meeting/Go to Webinar”

Have you downloaded COmboFix and MGTools to the desktop? Can you download them to a different computer and transfer to the infected computer? Have you tried running any of the scans in safe mode?

Oh thanks! It never came up on my email so I thought maybe Abri was on vacation and then started a new post. I'll go over there now and see what he says, thanks.

Hi not sure what you mean. There is no response from Abri on that link...?

    Hi Tim!

Yes I tried running a bunch in safe mode, to no avail. I deleted Spybot, Adaware and AVAST because they weren't working right and couldn't figure out how to restore.

I tried downloading about 10 including them and other new ones for me...

Good news, I managed to download WinScotty and that helped some. I was able to google startup info and delete somethings that are not necessary.

More good news, now it only takes 20 seconds to switch to a new page (still frustrating, but better than 2-5 minutes lol)

Bad news, I just tried to download the rest of Spybot again and it's still timing out.

I have not heard of ComboFix and MGTools, will look into it.

Are you able to read my Hijack report and tell me what I should click to fix?

    Thanks so much,

    CE

You need to run what was already requested by Abri in your other thread. Until you do that, no one can help you. You were asked to run the READ & RUN ME and that is what everyone is still waiting for you to do. You should not be posting HijackThis logs because we don't want you to!

Yes I know that Abri has not responded. Sometimes we just do not have the time to be here 24 hrs a day every day of the week.

Oh sorry! I misunderstand. Yes, I did all that back then. Just to be sure I just went back through it:
    The MSCONFIG is still disabled,
did CCleaner a few times the past few days,
Hidden Files and Folders is still being shown,
I haven't been able to download many malware killers but have Spyware Blaster (didn't find anything), CCleaner, CWShredder which I ran.

Managed to download aswclnr.exe and Sophor rootkit killer both which didn't find anything; and WinPatrol which has helped so I can delete stuff from my startup.

Downloaded part of Spybot but keeps timing out before I can install it. This last time, more of it almost installed because I noticed it takes longer to time out when I first start my computer, so I tried it fast and it was a little better though didn't install.

As far as Norton, I got rid of that a long time ago, although I still find stuff from Symantec on my compter here and there. Should I delete it?

(Also can't seem to get rid of Best Crypt in Add/Remove and Babylon in browser.)

Just found this on my WinPatrol startup: icon0240DBFB3

I deleted that but it's also here: C:\WINDOWS\INSTALLER\{0240BDFB-2995-4A3F-8C96-18D41282B716}\ICON0240B

Think I should delete it but wanted to wait to hear what you guys have to say first.

    Thanks!

You need to complete ALL of the READ ME. This is only the beginning. You must run all of the scans and ATTACH ALL of the logs that are requested. You need to make sure that you are running the cleaning procedure for your version of Windows. You should have attached logs from the below programs a long time ago.
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes AntiMalware
    • ComboFix
    • MGtools
Spyware Blaster is not a malware cleaner and neither is CCleaner. CWSshredder outlived its usefulness more than 3 years ago. You need to finish the READ & RUN ME and stop doing things on your own that are not requested in the READ & RUN ME. We do not want you to run WinPatrol either.

Until you do what is requested in that procedure and attach your logs to the other thread you started with Abri, we cannot help you. This current thread will likely be closed soon since you should be working in the other thread.

No you should not delete it as it is not a problem. Just do what is requested in the READ & RUN ME. Apparently you are not clicking on the cleaning procedure links given in step 3.

Good job! :) Then I'm closing this current thread to avoid having any of us look at it anymore.
