I do still have some LPs, just brought them into the house from the garage so they don't melt, been getting 104F out there. Havn't had a turntable in years though.

I still have about 50 LP's left after I got ripped off, still have my JVC turntable with a near brand new Shure. Unfortunately, I have nothing to plug it into, just my computer. Anyways, I have the CD's now so that's a moot point. I just can't get myself to throw it all out even if the gf screams at me every once in a while.:-D

I know what you mean augie, I cringe whenever I am watching a decorating show on tv and they take old records and mutilate them. Oh have to stop getting sick :cry

When we were kids, there was this guy (my mom's cousin) who was a total idiot (could think of a stronger word, but it's not allowed :-D).

Anyway, he lived around the corner and we decided it would be a good idearolleyes to take my grandfater's old LPs and throw them at his house.

Yes, it was beyond stupid, but what made it really really idiotic was that my grandfather had written his name on them.

So, that's what I immediately think of when I think of LPs. I've got to say, I love books and hope they never go entirely digital, but I am more than ecstatic that music has gone digital. I hated storing all those records, then tapes, then CDs.

True it is handier to store, wonder what will replace the CD now? I used to love to rummage through second hand record stores. There was a radio station out of Gilroy that got most of it records that way. KFAT.com
When my ex and I split up and I was going through albums he got a bit snippy and asked how after over 20 years I could remember which were mine. DUH, my names on em :p

Still have some vinyl LP's but remember that prior to these there were the breakable ones, not LP's though. Had to get up every 3 minutes or so to put another record on. :eek

Does anyone have an opinion on what to do with warped LP's? I have a couple in my collection that are warped. :-D

Not that I listen to the LP's anymore, I keep them more for sentimental reasons and hope my generation z offspring will value them in the future.

It should say the Company name, Address and the date it was stamped on the back of the cover/sleeve also on the record itself on the label

Sorry, I don't know any more then that, looked at my records and trying to check on line, no luck so far. Maybe someone will come up with an answer for you, hang in there.

See if the record company has a web site, maybe there is a way to contact them.

We used to put old 78's in an oven until they became pliable then shape them into Rose bowls.
