My laptop only has 512MB and a Crucial Scan said the following:

So, after looking on the ebuyer page: http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Components/cat/Memory---Laptop?refmen=tn

What should I be looking at getting? I want 2GB in total and this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/106116 seems to be the cheapest option for my needs. Is it suitable for my laptop?

The Crucial will be a lot better than the Kingston! But we really can't answer your a question without knowing what Laptop you have!!!

So, if I get two 1GB sticks of the £15 Crucial RAM in the first post I should be fine then?

Well if your sure your Laptop can use that much why not I couldn't find much info on the M 70 so just try and find out that it does indeed support 2Gb (cross-reference with another source).

The Crucial scan said it supports up to 1 Gig per slot I think so will just go for that. Would the RAM specs be compatible?

If you order both at the same time Crucial should be smart enough to give you a matching pair I hope. Reputable company in my book, I have 4Gb of their RAM.

I mean, would all the numbers match up? At the top it says DDR2 PC-whatever etc. Would buying that RAM work fine on my laptop?

Well it should, I can't positively confirm it as I don't work for the company, but it should.

Would it be better then to order one and see if that works and then order the other?

I did a Crucial scan prior to purchasing additional RAM sticks and purchased the exact specifications it gave me in the scan. The additional RAM sticks work perfectly in sync with the "old sticks" I still have inside my 'puter. Therefore, IMO it's Thumbs up to Crucial!

The Toshiba page at Crucial shows this # CT491408
and the eBuyer page shows this # CT12864AC53E which links back to Crucial
I'm still trying to figure out why two different product numbers. It might not be the same item/

The numbers indeed match up and it looks very similar but it has a different "product" number, you should be fine. Both require same Voltage, are same speed with same timings etc etc.

Oh well. I've ordered two sticks of it so will find out on Thursday. :p Hopefully it shouldn't make a difference.
