how can I support MP3 files inlinux

    hello,
    greetings,

    lately i found new redhat distro. i.e RHEL5 and i started to learn new features in rhel5 at a local institute.My problem is it can not play mp3 files or I couldn't get how to play mp3 files in linux.My sound drivers(modules) and speakers are working properly as I checked.Any assistance would ge greately appreciated.Thanks in advance.

    Which media player are you using. If you don't have one installed you will probably have to install one, some popular ones are:

    Amarok
    Banshee
    MPlayer
    Rhythmbox Music Player
    gtkPod
    XMMS
    VLC Media Player
    Helix Player
    Totem
    Xine

    MP3 is not supported out of the box by any distro due to copyright laws.
