shortcuts won't work

v :waveAfter downloading and running freeware CCleaner when I click on my shorcuts icon on desktop I get this Error(C:|windows|All Users|Desktop|ink or lnk) and message says _:wave

 

Thanks for reply PLODR & HALO but PLODR yours did not work and HALO I'm currently using win98 hopping you guys can help message that pops up (windows filedoes not have a program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in My Computer by clicking View and the folder options.) The only way that I can open program or file is to right click-properties-find target-open

I'm not sure, I must confess. Let's try this one first. It's called Tweak UI and the download is sitting a bit down the scroll in the right light blue column. This tool is often recommended for icon problems. Install and open the program. Look for "Icons" in the register and give it a run.

 

I'm running windows 98

 

EDIT: you're right - support for this program ended March 24, 2008, for Win98. Sorry
