I am at the end of the line here!

I know there has got to be an answer someplace in the archives here, but I really don't know what to look for.
I've been having boo coo problems since I picked up a MalWare and have dropped T00 many bucks on down loads that are supposed to cure the problems. I have done two recoveries. I am about to shoot another good computer literally and I hate to because I really like this one when it was on it's game. I also hate to waist ammo right now the way things are going. I might have to hi-jack a gas truck.
Here is my personal situation. I am 100% DAV and 100% Socially disabeled. Having died four or five times, my cerebreal cereal cruncher just ain't what it should be. Now I ain't crying, I'm just telling who ever reads this that I can no longer roll my wheel chair across the front yard and chew gum at the same time. It's that simple.
Trying to unwire this mess I've gotten my self in is over my head and I'm a long way from civilization where intellects roam.
I need a Major Geek to come in on remote assistance and just tear this thing all to hell before I do. I fear I have too many programs fighting each other, I no longer have admin control or dll32 executes. I can't even delete programs.
If you don't want to use my "Remote Assistance" then I have a 30 foot camper in my front yard that is set up, air cinditioned and private here in Orange Texas.
Be darned if I want to buy another computer right now. I've got to have surgery on my back the 17th and I would like this thing fool proof for my wife and kid.
If there is a geek out there who is willing to help a wore out, burnt out old, frustrated grunt, I'd sure be beholding.
I just want my computer up and running like she's supposed to.
If I can't get help here, I'm going to have to take it to Geeks are Us or something. Probably just buy a new machine and trash this one.

You will probably be able to uninstall programs via Add/remove programs if you do it in Safe mode. Restart your computer and press the F8 key repeatedly as soon as you see a progress bar. This should take you into Safe mode. Use the arrow keys and Return to navigate from there.

The simplest way out of this dilema would be to buy a new drive and install it as the master, changing the present drive to slave. Reinstall your OS on the new drive and recover your stuff from the old one.

A little more complicated but just as quick would be to do a non-destructive reinstall of your OS (as long as all the malware is gone and your using XP). Here is a link to the place I first found this at. Fred Langa used to work for MS but moved on and still helps those in need with his expertise.

Edit: Sorry Appzalien - wasn't quick enough. I leave this in here though:

    1. It would also be a good idea to have a malware check here on MajorGeeks. You should go over the guidelines and upload your logs in MajorGeeks Malware Removal Forum. At least run an online scanning or two if nothing else. These are good:

    2. Microsoft has this relatively new service - a free online scanner. It can very often repair broken files, it installs updates, defragments selected sections, removes obsolete registry keys safely, removes temporary Internet files and a lot of malware. It worth giving it a try. Link to Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner here.

This scanner can do quite a few things that other online scanners can't. Most important: it can repair and eliminate bugs in Microsoft's own programs. It is true that other online scanners perform better when it comes to malware removal but OneCare definitely has it's advantages. And the malware removal isn't exactly bad either...

Also these online scanners I think are recommendable: ESET NOD32 and/or F-Secure.

    3. Other metods of cleaning - try a couple of these:

    1. Empty cached & cookies. In IE: Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete
    2. Run the build-in Disk Cleanup Tool in Windows XP: Click Start - then point to All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> click Disk Cleanup
    3. Run CCleaner if you have that freeware program - ATF Cleaner - also freeware - will do equally well. MajorGeeks download here.

    Okee Dokee!
Lemme type this a little slower.
I have two herniated disk in my neck and a cracked vertabra from a rear end wreck a few months back. I have spinal stenosis in L3,4and 5 along with other nerve damage from shrapnel incurred in the line of playing with little people who were really pissed off at me for some reason. My legs sometimes work but most of the time are just around for the pain. I am on roughly 90 to 180 milligrams of morphine a day for the last few months, depending on how much I want to feel or not. I have five and ten milligram hydrocodones for hangnails that might be incurred during the time between now and the 12th when I report to the ortho stergeons.
I enjoy about fifteen per cent of a functioning heart. I died of a massive heart attack playing paint ball in 2001 and again four times in 2004 when the anithesiologist bulldozed my esophogus putting me in a three and a half week coma in 2004. You're supposed to suffer drain bamage when you're in a coma that long. Fortunately, I knew who the last for presidents were going in so I only lost one or two maybe.
I am more inclined to shoot my self than this computer. My depression right now far out wieghs my frustration. I have pretty much tried every thing you guys have suggested and to no avail. I am in a case of 'I should have laid the shovel down a long time ago' on fixing this thing.
You have no idea how hard it is for me to ask anyone to carryy my load. Money isn't an issue. Mobility is. Beaumont is a thrity two mile torture endurance test and that's the closest there is serious and cognitive wizards I can trust.
This computer is my life line to sanity maintenance and if you don't think I have read everything and tried everything I can think of or manage to read up on, I am sorry I gave the wrong impression.
I am so tired that the more I delve into getting this thing right, the more I am convinced I am screwing it up worse.
I know you guys are doing your best to line me out. Trouble is, I simply don't have the G-2 right now to be lined out. I have hit the beach too many times and it's time to pay the piper.
I sincerly appreciate all of your input. I honestly do. But I don't think any of you understand how short a pier I am on.
    My humble gratitude for trying.

Are you threatening to commit suicide unless someone gives up their anonymity and run a major and absolutely superfluous risk by connecting to your computer for a repair that your extensive postings clearly reveals that you are perfectly capable of performing yourself?

I believe the correct instructions can be found here: READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

You are obviously able to read and write, so following simple instructions should not be too strenuous....

We can understand your frustration, but thousands of frustrated users have followed these instructions and have been successful at cleaning their systems. :)

My APOLOGIES! No our sense of humor clearly runs in differant tangients. I'm on the verge of computercide!
I assure you, I have worked to hard and already been through way too much to remain standing to pull the pin on myself.
Two postings are extensive? No, if I could maintain a decent attention span then I could and would complete corrective actions on my computer.
I had no idea that an access to my machine would be a superfluous risk.
I'll just unplug it and take it to the kids at Geeks R Us.
My most humble and sincerest apologies for saying are implying anything that might have caused you concern. My intent was to point out that were I actually capable of cognitively performing the task required, they would already have been accomplished and I was simply hoping for someone who would look at it as childs play to straighten out what would otherwise be a major tasking for me and has been to daye.
If I have caused any umbrage among anyone on this forum, I sincerly apologize and request that admin delete this thread and forget I was here. there are times when you run out of options and optimism when you're swimming over your head.

    TimW: printed and using. Thanks.

Thanks to all for time and interest.

That was the second time you were given those guidelines in this thread:

No need to apologize or leave us. I followed this thread with interest and understood what you were saying. I had no real solution for you, although Tim's solution came to mind.
Follow those steps all the way through. It's merely downloading the needed apps and letting them do the work, while you drink a cold one.
Tim and the rest of the gang in Malware are as good as Marines, when it comes to killing.
    Give 'em a chance.

That is, if you'll believe an old Navy snipe. ;)

You're really the one that needs the apology.
Some of these guys are pretty young and haven't seen the things you and I have.
Sometimes, in their haste to be helpful, they don't catch the fact that not every one is is at their level or even in the same physical/mental state.

Aye! And I was working through what I had printed off from your thread. Trouble is Microsoft utilizes IE7 and I have to utilize Firefox for the time being. IE& was where my problem was.
Your corduality and friendliness have motivated me to turn down help already since I have obviously falsly given the impression that my computure was a life or death situation.
That puts me on an untenable possition of whining to get something done and it will be a cold day in hell before that happens. I'm proud of every scar I have and every degenerating joint, bone and muscle. Every morning we get up together one more time.
MuskSnipe, I am the token Jarhead member of the Tin Can Sailors Secret Scurvy Dog Society. I'll take point for a snipe any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The ones I know are up right Salts!
I'm not a Jarhead who don't appreciate the Navy! I've been where they trully count. Not to mention a Corpsman or three who have plugged my leaks.
How come so ever, this is my last post.
Just as I wish in my old age not to insult, create umbrage or decension with or among anyone nor do I wish it bestowed on me.

I do trully wish all Gods speed and good luck.

If you haven't already...start a thread in the malware section with the requested logs from running the Read and Run First instructions ...there is no need to use IE7 for the downloads. :)
