The GPU folding client is stoopid fast! You can run a Quad with SMP and a GPU client! :-D

Where can I find out what the heck you're talking about?
I'm running graphics client when I log on as 'dnnyo'...
now, same computer, --
I log on as 'duhman'...
(one is limited, one is administrator)...
then F@H is off... so I downloaded F@H CONSOLE ...
but as dnnyo, ,,, team #12072,,,
....
then I look at my task manager...
one is running at 48%, the other at 47%...
because both accounts are logged in...
but then if I log off one and log on the other, then at least one will be on...

If this is the same PC as in the other thread, you need a duo core to run both at 100% at the same time. Both versions are sharing the same processor on your PC, it will take twice as long to finish a WU, also think you might be pushing your PC to the limit. Fred is talking about a Quad processor in the above thread, not sure how many WUs it can run at the same time.

I figure... what do I have to lose?
My plan is to finish this WU with graphic version, then uninstall it,
and then just run the console as it seems to be kicking butt time-wise over the graphic...
I did another blunder though...
When I reinstalled console, It downloaded so fast and didn't ask me for options or anything,
then it appeared on my desktop, with all the extra files and logs and etc...
which is the reason why I went to graphics ...
I messed it up moving it from desktop to "program files"
Understand I have 2 accounts on this (my own) PC...
one account is supposed to be administrator, the other limited...
but actually they are both administrator right now,
I just can't seem to function being a limited account

OK, next what I'm doing is I just leave the console version account logged on and running- so what if my desktop looks like hell broke loose, I don't have to go there.
I check it now and then out of curiosity,
I log-off, switch users, look at the open window which says it's ...
speeding along a lot faster than graphics is.
then i log off that one and go back to where graphics is running...
again I just switch users,
and the real key here is I haven't had a crash since (I can't remember when)
so my PC just keeps running 24/7 :celebrate
so instead of getting one WU tomorrow, i think (hope) I'll get 2 (or more) like on Monday.

In the long run there is still the work being done, just the results come in at different intervals.

You can run one WU per core. I could run 4 WU's on mine, but I am running the SMP version where all 4 cores work on one WU. More better Folding that way. Got a few bugs on my GPU folding, it is working, just not as well as it should.

If you are using a single core CPU, you can only run one WU at a time. If you start another one, it will kill the one currently running.
