So basically when i turn on my computer the boot screen comes up, then goes to the next screen and then turn off, and boots up again and keeps doing the same thing in a loop. it won't load up at all. I tried reseating the RAM but nothing. My friend said i should try load up in safe mode by pressing F8 when its starting but nothing happens when i do that. is it F8 to get into the boot menu? I can't seem to get into the BIOS either as the computer shuts itself off and reboots again before it goes into the BIOS. I've listened to the computer to see if I can hear the beeps from the motherboard. it just beeps once, and sometimes after a few reboots none at all, cuz the comps shuts off before it. It was working fine and then one morning this. So any got any idea what might be wrong?? and how to fix it?

Have you tried to hit the delete button while it is booting ?
sounds like you may want to try a new PSU and see if that fixes it . the PSU may not be giving the power needed to boot up .

i've tried that but the comp reboots before it loads into the bios

Have you tried a new PSU ?

Try taking the battery out set the Cmos jumper to clear wait 30 seconds then set it back and put the battery back . if this doesn't work you need to RMA the mobo .

yeah i tried that and it doesn't seem to work. i don't have another PSU to try out in it. So do u think its def the mobo thats at fault?

i had posted on another forum and they seemed to thing it might be that it was overheating. maybe the cpu. what do u think?

also I need to try and get the data off my HDD. I have another machine that i can put the HDD from the malfunction pc into. What I'm wondering is, do u just stick the other HDD into computer and plug it in? and then it shows up, or do u have to do something else aswell?

Well take a look take the HSF off the CPU make sure you reapply thermal paste and make sure your fan is running if that is all good then I think it maybe your PSU that is the next thing to check then your mobo after that .

First try to get this one going if you can not then I would go ahead and put the HDD in a working computer and do what you want to it .

I just worked on a friends computer and it had the same problem. He don't know much about systems. Over heating was exactly the problem. He didn't realize but his water pump had died and the proc was hitting about 75c in a about 15 seconds. It would trip the auto shut down and try to reboot itself. At first I could not even get into the BIOS either. Might be something you want to look at :)

right so i've given up trying to fix it and am sending it back to where i bought it. they said they'd replace it. Only thing is I need to backup the stuff on my harddrive. So I have a spare machine that i can put the hard drive into. What do i actually need to do after slipping it in and connecting it? Do i need to change some setting in the comp or what? both drives r sata drives

    so does nobody know??

The top one is the one that was in my other computer already and the bottom is the one from the computer thats not working. I have the blue wire(dunno what it does, is this the one that makes it the master drive?) and then i have the other cables plugged into both, but the second drive isn't showing up when i load in.

this is how i have my HDD's setup: http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...9/DSC00180.jpg

I have xp on the other computer i have put the HDD into, but it came from a comp that was using vista x64, might that be why its not showing up?
