Well, I have 1 doppelganger in the US. I can understand 1500 with my given name but 335 with my surname doesn't seem right as it was only a small family. Hmm, maybe I should sign up with a Lithuanian genealogical site.

Interesting!! According to that site there are only 2 of me in the U.S. The problem is now, I don't know how to tell my wife!! You see, whenever she gets mad me her favorite phrase is "thank God there's only one of you!!" Man, is she ever going to be distressed!!!:-D

I've seen that '335' number come up often enough now with people with more 'exotic' surnames. A Lithuanian, Ukranian, Greek and South Korean, yes we are a diverse group. :) I figure it's a catchall for dealing with unknowns for some reason.

Ok there are 3,944 total with my first and last name. 635,183 with my first name (which statistically is the 76th most popular first name). There are 1,891,839 with my last name (which is the 4th most popular) and this is only in the U.S.
I tried to figure out what % that was out of a total population of 304,645,726 but my caculator only goes to 8 digits :-D

Does your calculator let you do scientific notation? I'm assuming that would work out to something like 3.05 x 10^8.

I've never been able to figure out how scientists supposedly use that system - aren't exact answers, even if they're huge, better than something that has been rounded?
