    Hey guys;)

I'm not sure what to ask for so I'll tell you what I want to do..

Friends PC he wants a drive to his self as the wife and kids are novices and keep doing damage, so how would I give each person their own drive to use so they can install/delete and have their own set ups without changing the others drives..:confused

The best way would be to partition the hard drive into four partitions.

C: for the Windows install, then D: for him, E: for the wife, and F: for the kids (these are example drive letters... most likely a DVD drive will take D: or whatever).

Then, label the partitions with their names so they don't get confusing (i.e. label his partition "Bill" or whatever his name is, "Sandy", or whatever his wife's name is, and "Kids" for the kids' partition).

Then, set the wife and kids on a Standard User account (if using Vista), or Limited User account (if using XP), and set the permissions on the partitions for whoever's going to use them (right click on the partition and select properties, permissions tab... if in windows xp, you have to go into folder options, view tab, and make sure simple file sharing is NOT selected). Makes sure all user accounts are listed on each partition's permissions, and set the wife and kids to Deny on everything for his partition, Deny for the kids account on the wife's partition, etc. Of course, leave the default permission settings for C: on the Wife and Kids account... if they're completely denied on the C: drive they won't be able to use Windows. :p

I'm not a partitioning expert, so you might want someone else to cover the details of partitioning a drive. :)
