:confused I get free webspace from my cable internet provider. I built my webpage with Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 and uploaded it. The pictures for some reason do not transfer. I go to my webpage and there is a blank spot for each picture with a small red x. What am I doing wrong? My OS is Windows XP Pro. Thank you. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. The website is for my 1963 High School graduating class and I don't want to let them down.

Can you post a link to the page??

If you had an FTP client, could you access your web space that way? An FTP client would provide an alternative way of uploading files to your web space, and it would allow you to see the folders and files out there in the web space provided by your ISP, in the same manner you can view files and folders on your computer via Windows Explorer. Some freeware FTP clients are available.

I know just about nothing about FTP. So it would be hard for me to even try and talk about it. With Microsoft Publisher there is a pack and go option but it looks even worse on my page than the one I created with Front Page. This is driving me nuts! There is an option to upload folders from my isp's website, but wasn't sure that was a good idea and don't know what if anything that would solve.

I suspect FrontPage is just not uploading the images. My experience with FrontPage goes back to FrontPage 2000 and I haven't used it for quite some time. Let's see whether any FrontPage 2003 users will chime in here.

Do you recall ever seeing any prompt or screen in FrontPage asking you whether to upload images? Or, something to the effect of whether to embed images into your HTML file?

I do believe using the ISP's upload feature may be a solution, so I'd try it.

By the way, you can clean up your web address, i.e. your site name, by using underscore marks between words. Thus, instead of seeing Official%20CHS%201963%20Website.htm, your site visitors could see Official_CHS_1963_Website.htm. Looks much better, doesn't it?

Yes FrontPage does ask when I save my work and there's a pciture and I always click yes or save. I don't remember the exact question. I am using the ISP's upload feature and the pictures just don't transfer. How would I clean up the web address? That's the address the ISP gave me?

I am so frustrated I could scream!

Who is your ISP? Maybe some other forum members are familiar with it?

Can you post screen prints of the screen and options you see when using the ISP upload feature? When you tried to use this feature, could you navigate to the folder containing the images on your web page, and select them for upload?

Back to the FTP idea. Do you know how to use Windows Explorer to browse folders on your computer? You're using Windows XP, right? Before you could upload your HTML files with FrontPage, you had to setup a username and password in FrontPage so that you could connect to your web space, right?

To clean up your web address, change the name of your web page in FrontPage to include the underscore marks. Then, publish the updated page to your web server, i.e. your web space.

I would still love to know what the heck I did wrong with FrontPage. However, I went to freewebs.com and created the class webpage:

For our purposes right now, this will probably work fine. BUT - I still need to find out how to use FrontPage to create a webpage. Thank you.
