Popular download contains virus

    I use Major Geeks a lot and this is the first time I have run into this. The most popular download right now: (Advanced WindowsCare 3 -- Downloaded: 16090 times) has a virus attached to it. This was detected by my system as soon as the download began.

    Just wanted to let someone know.
    If this is an error with my system, could someone please let me know.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Sorry but this download is not infected. All downloads here are tested before putting up on the website. And if a popular download like this had been infected, many many people would be complaining. Did you download your copy from our website or from somewhere else? Also this program has been downloaded 508139 times (at the time of writing) not 16090. So perhaps you did not download it here??

    Please provide information on what program is actually detecting an infection and what the infection is. Show us a log which would even be better. Is it NOD32 saying New Heuristic? If so, it is a false positive. The same may be true for Avast.

    I re-downloaded the program and had no problems with the second download. I did use a different mirror site. The first time was from the TX mirror and this time from FL. It must have been an error from my virus program, Avast.
