need to torture test USB HDD

i have yet another computer related problem, this one relating to the 9 EIDE hard drives and the three enclosures ti split between them. My hard drives, being about three to seven years old a piece (i steal them from my school's A+ room when no adults are there), are steadily dying on me. I need a program that will check the full SMART data on these drives through the USB line (HD Tune doesnt do that), and then i need a program that will torture test the hell out of them. God i cant wait for my Bday so i can get a monster 1.5tb firewire drive. these USB drives are really starting to annoy me....
