Young Girl Holding Guns

Although you may find this a disturbing photo it is typical over-exaggeration by a journalist i have read several accounts from different sources and at no time do any of them say that the weapon was not loaded (you can see it is empty).

Is this just scaremongering as a lot of folks would be horrified at the headline description YOUNG GIRL HOLDING GUNS when many families have unloaded weapons in the house and allow their children to handle them.

This girl lives in my town, she's the daughter of a Police Officer, trained to handle guns, and still shot herself in the head with a pistol..

I think the 6 years old picture is nothing. I took a picture of my 4 year old holding a raccoon that I shot, where are the reporters?

 

I hope she is ok. Sadly, we don't always use our training properly.

Typical big-city, big-media bull. I've been around guns for most of my life. My parent's taught me how to shoot, how to handle them and how dangerous they are. I hunt, and carry one daily to chase off predators from our animals.

For the most part, these sorts of incidents can be eliminated by teaching them why guns are dangerous, not just 'Oh a gun! Scream and run away!' Teach respect instead of abject and unrelenting fear.

Oh, and let's not forget this is Fox news. An outfit who's reporting record is only slightly better than the Onion, but only because they show the weather. Look up Fox news and Mass Effect for more information.

I'll assume you aren't a father. If the media reported it correctly as to the age...I am sorry, but no 6 year old is ready to be handling a hand gun. I could go into the myriads of reasons why, but I don't need to. I am a father of a child close to that age range, and am around plenty other kids in that age range because of her. I am very aware of how not ready children are for something so dangerous.

Media BS or not, you don't just give a gun to a young child, whether aware of the dangers or not.

 

I repeat, and I'm not trying to be funny.
You don't trust kids or pets.They will shock you every time.

 

Considering all the unconstitutional gun control laws going into effect, I would say this is the usual scare mongering we see every day.

first of all if you dont know what happened you people should not be running your mouths......... you dont even have the correct age ...... she isnt 6 and she is trained to use guns. accidents happen and god forbid one of you have to go through what happened. nothing pisses people off more than when other people run their mouths and they dont have the facts or know the truth. they just want to be a know it all and spread vicious rumors.

 

actually my prior message was really for paxton 007 who said that the girl is from his town. why post something of someone you dont know. it doesnt matter what job her dad has you werent there and you have no facts but yet you had no problem posting a web site link with her entire family on that was ment for her family and friends. do you know any of them??? do you know what happened that night???? when a gun falls and discharges you dont get to pick the direction it goes off in. maybe you should think before you type!!!!!

 

I don't think its prudent to start jumping people in a 2 month old thread. On top of that, you took several different posts, interpreted them incorrectly, then attacked paxton.
