Extended Service Plan popup

    I purchased an HP Pavilion dv2700 early in the year. For several months I have been trying to get rid of an Extended Service Plan popup that is driving me nuts. I've used the malware removal tools recommended here and found nothing. Can any of you advise me how to get rid of this popup?

    This is not really a malware issue if it is a popup from HP and that would explain why the malware removal tools did not help. However, I will take a quick look after you attach the log from the below.

    Follow the instructions in Using MGtools and attach the MGlogs.zip file.

    I think so. As that thread suggested, I've disabled HP Total Advisor from the startup menu and deleted the Extended Service Plan and Service Plan tasks from Task Scheduler. There is one more HP task scheduled that I'm researching before removing. It is called HPCeeSchedule and is scheduled to activate at 6:58pm on 9/5/08, repeating every 6 hours after that.

    This work was all done this morning. First opportunity I've had to follow up. I'll be at the computer long enough today to be a pretty good test of the service plan popup. So far, so good.

    Almost 5 hours and the popup has not returned.

    Just more junk from HP. It is "HP Customer Experience Enhancements" Like Dell, they put loads of unnecessary/unwanted junk on their PCs.
