I downloaded the new version of Firefox (because of the nag screen) and it tells me that image shack is no longer available for this version plus a number of plugins and a lot of bookmarks had been removed, so i hit sytem restore to go back to my old version but when it finished the old version had been removed.http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/funny-smileys-68129/doh.gifhttp://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/funny-smileys-68129/abuse.gif

It has not been a disaster for me as my bookmarks were saved.

I have now gone back to Opera and the new version i find good, it has speed dial built in and does seem a bit faster than FF, i just need to learn to find my way around it.http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/smileys-91853/j0/thinking.gif

I have studied Chrome and at the moment will reserve judgment.

it seems to be another powerfull enterprise like Microsoft, see my other post.

I am very p$$$$d off at FF for not informing us that when you download the new version (forgot the number) that it would delete some of the info in the old one.http://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/funny-smileys-68129/angry2.gif

the nag screen to download came on every time i started FF.

I have gone back to Opera and the new one so far is impressive, it has speed dial built in and if i can ever get the spell check to work i will be a happy bunny (it's just becase i am lazy) i tend to reverse the IE in friends and put a E in using.

I personally think if it happened once it should be looked into.

As for criticism i was very happy with FF thats why i changed from Opera (over a year ago)

I never did save my profile and always updated FF for years by just installing a new version over the old ones. It never gave me any problems.

The reason for not saving my profile and setting up a new version is that I simply just don't know HOW to do it, despite having read on Mozillazine on how to do it. :confused It goes WAY beyond me.

I have MozBackup and backed up via a CD, but don't even know exactly what this software backs up. Just my profile, add-ons, bookmarks etc. or the entire Firefox version.

Now I think it's the time to do a fresh install of FF 3.01 and am just terrified that I will loose everything when I do it (incorrectly).

Thanks for any input if you please. If so, please be so kind to explain it to me in newbie terms....

BTW: sorry if I'm hijacking Bills' thread.
