Hello there. I do not know what the problem is with my PC lately but all webpages come out very basic looking and with white backgrounds and some buttons (as in picture on left side) dont even show up. Ive looked around trying to find a way to fix this but I can not find anything. Can someone please help me. Ive attached a screen shot of my homepage and how basic it looks, all webpages look the same. Thank you!

Im using a Dell Dimension 2400 desktop, with Windows XP with all current updates and have Norton Anti-Virus.

I have reinstalled Java and all of those things like shockwave and flash and such, Im so confused, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi

By the looks of that page your have the Accessibility options or one of them turned on, so try this, open IE and click Tools > Internet Options > click the Accessibility button at bottom and make sure all are unticked ( mainly the top one is the one that can cause webpages to look like that) > OK

    This location is the menu

    Hi

Also check in Control Panel Accessibility/Ease of Access options and namely one for Make the Computer easier to see and it has an option for "remove background images" using Vista at present so location of that option maybe different in XP

also just to see if a 3rd party add-on is causing this, run IE in its safe mode, click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and you should have Internet Explorer with no add-ons, run that and see if anything changes.

Even try a different browser to try and narrow down the cause to the browser or OS, Firefox or Opera will do.

YOU my friend are a genius! I have tried for MONTHS to fix this and it was something so simple as going into control panel and accessibility and unclicking the "use high contrast" box under display. Thank you so much!

Hi, I have been having this same issue for a while now, have tried everything suggested on this page, but nothing helps. This happens in 3 different browsers. I would attach a screenshot but don't know how here...sorry. Can a trojan be causing this? I also get a lot of 'DNS lookup failed' errors. I have winXP and am on dial up...thanks
