Am I an approved professional....?

I was looking over a thread on Malware Support and noticed that at the top it says all posts are answered by approved professionals. Since I have never replied to a post in any of the forums it made me wonder what constitutes 'approved'? What is the approval process (if any) and who do I contact (if anyone) to get approval. I have a suggestion for one of the individuals posting there but do not want to over-step my boundries here. I spend a lot of time doing malware removal, have an A+ cert and an MCP. Still, I am careful not to suggest steps which would cause more harm than good and would appreciate any input anyone may have about the posting process so I can be helpful where I can without causing anyone additional problems. Thanks in advance for any help on this!:)

There is a process for the malware forum ---- and unless you are an "approved" malware fighter, you can not post in any thread in that forum except the one that you start, if you have malware problems.

As to how to get approved, the first thing to do is to start helping in other forums that you may have knowledge of and let us see your talents. :)

Once you have shown us how you work, and if you are truly wanting to be dedicated to this forum ( it takes a good amount of dedication to do this as a volunteer), then you can contact Chaslang and he will advise you as to the next steps.

    Hi :)

'Approved' means you've been approved by Chaslang, who has formulated MajorGeeks Read & Run Me First Thread which is stickied in the Malware Forum and is arguably the best on the web.

The malware forum is set up so that only Admins/Moderators and those approved by Chaslang will even be able to reply to a thread. This is basically for quality control and to keep things less confusing.

If you are interested in the Malware forum, you can pm Chaslang once you have 10 posts (I think). You should try to help out in other tech forums here on MGs. There are a lot of people in need of aid.

The other thing is if you spend even a small amount of time in Malware, you will see how much of a commitment it is. The workers in there are very dedicated and spend a lot of time helping the enormous amount of people with malware problems.
