I know this will sound like some very basic questions, but the more I look at the laptop world the more confused I am getting with some specs.

    Two big questions:
1] What is the difference between the Core 2 Duo (C2D) and the Centrino 2 series CPU?

2] What is the difference, besides speed, between the P8400 and the T9300?

Thanks very much for all comments/insights on this.

Duo Core is referring to dual and quad processor architectures. Centrino is reffering to a type of chipset within the Duo Core family and others. If I understand it correctly Centrino has enhanced features like enhanced wireless capabilities. Read to learn the whole story. Hope this helps

Thanks very much. I appreciate that. I have been trying to decide if it is really important or not, before getting a laptop.
