    Hi

Just wildly guessing or educated guessing here, but if you can hook up your camera to your PC and IF it lists in My Computer as a removable drive then its "possible" you maybe able to recover some data, try one of these

    Recuva

    PC Inspector Smart Recovery

Both free and worth a try.

    Hi

In that case then its likely you will need a driver to allow Windows to see your camera, this should have come with your camera or will if available be on Hitachi's website.

If new hardware is found, what Windows version do you have and do you see a removable drive in My Computer?
