You can download the sound driver by clicking here. If that driver doesn't work, please use the following steps to provide us with a complete Everest report, and we'll try again ;)

I have tried that driver and installed it and still hasn't worked do you think i should purchase a new sound card and plug it in.

Try installing your chipset driver first:
    SiS 650/961 AGP Driver
Then the audio driver, dlb suggested.
If that still doesn't work, attach a FULL Everest report.

I have downloaded the chipset no problems and tried to add hardware again and selected from the list but i keep getting a error message:

installation complete but there is a error occured during the installation of this device. The name is already in use either a service name or a service display name. and then device disappears

    how do overcome this?

    please help
