    Hi guys.
Im working my way through Read & run me.
I have a quick question about running combofix.
It says * You should now install the Windows Recovery Console *
    * Windows Vista users can use their Windows CD to boot up into the Vista Recovery Environment *

My PC came with vista preinstalled, and dont have the discs.

    How should I continue?

    Thanks guys.

How about telling me what issues you are experiencing....

Tim, read the thread in the Fighter's Forum again. ;)

ComboFix deleted the winservice.exe that was in question but this does not mean that CF is correct in doing this. ComboFix has lots of false positive issues.

Ed, are you have any problems with anything working properly on your PC now. Check after a reboot. Did you physically look at your PC for flash card reader type slots?

    Hi tim
Im not experiencing any issues, it was the winservice.exe i was concerned about..
There seams to be conflicting views on it.

My pc seams to be running fine after reboot.
I have not checked physically for the for flash card reader.

All you need to do is look at it.

To be honest guys i dont know a lot about hardware.
Im taking it this would be inside the PC.
Would Everest be able to tell me if i have it?

On laptops it is a small door that opens allowing you to insert a flash card from things such as cameras and other media storage devices.

Me thinks that you may not have one...unless you have used your USB port to connect with a flash card.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

If you get a success message, then:

    Hi Tim.
The only thing i can think of is, i use a USB port to connect my phone to upload pics.
    Could this be it?

I received a success message about adding the regedit:)

    That could possibly do it...:)

If you re-connect that to your PC....check to see if that winservice.exe returns. :)

    Will do Tim:)
